Wound up in Wexford

Beautiful demoiselle

We drove down to Wisley and enjoyed another hot but leisurely afternoon meandering in beautiful surroundings.  I took a number of photos of plants, but the best photos of the day were insects - there were lots of dragonflies and damselflies flitting around over the little river that runs along one boundary, but most were of course on the opposite bank.  But several of these demoiselles posed nicely on the nettles.  I was also rather chuffed with the photo in extras when one briefly opened its wings.

We also saw a number of painted lady butterflies, looking particularly good on some lavender (second extra).

Having allowed the sat nav to take us there, mainly on motorways, W found a circuitous route back avoiding motorways, some of it on lovely roads through the Chilterns.
