Beauty and the Beast

Hot, humid but sunny-again. We have storm clouds moving in with severe thunderstorms that could bring up to 70 mph winds according to our local forecaster. Guess Trek and I will snuggle up in the powder room again; this house does not have a basement. I went out to get my blip (tree that was struck by lightning in last storm) before the neighbors and their dogs stirred. After seeing these gorgeous lilies, I couldn’t not include them for your viewing pleasure. When hubby arrived early this morning with my fresh thermos of coffee, the pets and I were on the back deck enjoying a little breeze and saying morning prayers. The hot temps and humidity showed up soon after. Hubby went home to vacuum; too much lifting for me. We share jobs according to ability. He just texted his day’s accomplishments; I am a slacker. Not much to report in the work department for me today. I folded a load of towels, cut and stitched a little of the craft project and showered before 5:00 Mass. Kim left cooked shrimp, chops and veggies so meal prep involves telling Alexa how long to run the microwave. In this house, you have to tell Siri to turn the lights off and on. Switches are covered. My Siri interfered with their Siri last time I was here so I had to get my SIL to do the lights remotely. Glad I figured out the problem. Crazy times we are living in. My grandson’s basketball team won the first game, lost the second. Not sure what time they play tomorrow so it could be late when they get back here from NC. Guess I will pour my glass of wine to take the edge off my storm fears. “Thunder roars but does not strike. Lightning strikes but does not roar. Choose to be lightning.” - Matshona Dhliwayo. Stay safe blip friends. Praying for the European flood victims. Thanks for the visit.
