Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Very hot and humid today. Got up early and picked my last large harvest of blueberries. My sister sent me seeds to replace my flourishing zucchini plant that collapsed and died suddenly yesterday. I have been fighting squash bugs for weeks, guess they won the war. All my ironing is caught up, house is in order, indoor flowers are watered, so I am ready for another respite. Hubby cleaned the smoker. Those ribs last night were incredibly moist and flavorful. Then he inventoried our camping stuff and we created grocery and non food lists for next week’s trip. I will be at Kim’s beginning tomorrow evening until Sunday afternoon so that leaves little time to get ready. Skylar logged in without issue and completed all assignments due this week. We have had a pleasant day and I really enjoyed her visit. In the “old days,” she was here more than at home. She will head to the beach tomorrow morning with her Mom’s friend to join her family on vacation. My daughter brought the boy by so I could get a picture of his new look. He gave me two pictures so you can see the before, during and after shots. This has been a good life lesson for him and his adventurous partner seen in the “during” picture. We’ve taken Sky to dance, will eat spaghetti leftovers and pick her up at 8:00 pm. Another summer day has flown by. We are under a severe thunderstorm warning. Hopefully it will be uneventful. “There is nothing more wonderful than the love and guidance a grandparent can give his or her grandchild.” — Edward Fays. And I do every chance I get. Thanks for the visit.
