Proud of our team
What a day yesterday. We had my Mum here for dinner and then a few of my son’s friends came over to watch the Euro 2020 final. We had moved the bigger TV right by the back door so they could watch from outside and still observe social distancing rules. It was raining on and off but the patio umbrella kept them dry. We watched inside and what a game! Such a shame we couldn’t hang onto the lead and that it had to go to penalties. Never a good way to decide in my opinion. Still it’s the best England have done in my lifetime and they should be proud but I do feel for those penalty takers. I’m sure it must go round in your head. A bit like my flute exam did but worse….. And as for what’s gone on since with the racist comments it’s just sickening and makes me angry. It really has been the best and worst of things all at once. And I had started to believe things were finally getting better. We clearly still have a long way to go.
I had a quiet day today mainly clearing up the debris the boys left outside and recovering from
the late night! It’s my last week off before I start my new job. I’m feeling apprehensive that I start the day the restrictions are relaxed.
Stay safe x
