This and That
Hot and humid all day. We got very little storm in our town last night, thank the Lord. Up early to go to an estate sale. Hubby was interested in the electric guitars. The asking prices were much higher than he wanted to spend. But I found some treasures in the kitchen so it wasn’t a wasted time. My sister and BIL found even more. We grabbed a quick breakfast and I finished packing to go home. The kids brought me the lovely butterfly wind chime and hubby his favorite peanuts to say thanks for house/pet sitting. The grands told me all about their trip. Glad they were able to get away. My SIL has decided to sell his well loved Jeep; the new owner was on his way. They have an extra car and want the money to purchase a more suitable first car for my grandson. Everyone was sad to see it go - they have a blast riding in it. What parents sacrifice out of love for their kids. Two of their neighbors leave their surplus vegetables and eggs on a stand at the end of their drives. Folks take what they want and simply leave a donation. What trust is on display. Meant to get a shot of this perfect lily before the sun came out but forgot till it was time to leave. Glad they bloomed while I was there. So I am back home, all unpacked and happy we have a few leftovers for dinner. It was a busy day with family. “My greatest pleasure is spending time with my family”. - Siri Hustvedt
