We were going to have a lazy day after the hectic time with the boys but Mr C had to go to Morpeth to pick up his broken plate, teeth fixed again. He stopped at the fruit farm to pick some strawberries - they are tasty enough but more like jam ones.

Meanwhile, instead of getting on with the knitting as I intended, I got sucked in to doing my book of our trip. It’s already almost a week since we got back.

#2 daughter phoned to thank us again for having the boys. She said they were wondering when they could come again. She’s very pleased with them both as they got good school reports, being at the expected level despite the Covid disruption. There teachers seem to know them well. James is praised for his wonderful imagination and interesting use of vocabulary!

It was John’s funeral in Ipswich this morning. I would have liked to have been there for Ruth but it is over 300 miles there, at least 6 hours driving, so it wasn’t doable.
