Hungry

This nest box has housed Blue Tits for many years, but this year Sparrows have taken it over and we feel this is a second brood. Although we can see more than one youngster in the nest, only one appears when food arrives. Whether they take it in turns, or whether only one is being fed, is impossible to say. Here the adult has just arrived - feeding takes place (see extra), then it all happens again. 

I have read that it has been a bad breeding year for Blue Tits, or maybe the nest box is so old that the hole has got bigger.
