A grand day out today, visiting New Brighton, which was bright, breezy and cheerful. Before that Port Sunlight, for a wander round the delightful "model" village, built for the workers of the nearby soap factory and a fair time at the Lady Lever Art Gallery where, in addition to the main collection of paintings and sculptures, there was an interesting Augustus John exhibition.
