At its best.
This is Cornus kousa, a variety of Dogwood. It is a deciduous tree which can grow up
To 40 feet. This one was planted about 20 years ago.
I was delighted when a friend of mine in the village invited me round to see it. It has never looked better with every branch covered with dense displays of white bracts each with a central black berry which will later turn red.
It is a magnificent sight and indeed would be worthy of an Arboretum or Botanic Garden.
It is not easy to convey just how splendid this is but I have added a couple more shots in extras
which might help.
The whole garden is a great delight and in my view is the best in the village.
