Wimbledon 1997 souvenir

Today I found another souvenir from Wimbledon….from 1997!

I was invited by a friend who worked for the company that makes Robinsons drinks so we were in a corporate area and had centre court tickets. All the guests that day were given a cut glass tumbler as in the photo. It’s the only time I have been in a corporate situation and it was great. However I was shocked that some of the people there did not bother to go to their seats on Centre Court as they were watching something on the TV in the lounge while drinking lots! It must have been the first Saturday as I could not have taken a day off in the week when working.

The tumbler is still unused. I mentioned it to my friend and she says she uses hers to put celery in if she has guests!

Good that Murray won yesterday and Dan Evans today.
