Hit and miss

The squashes are doing very nicely and I hope to have a good crop in the autumn on my return. The Swiss chard on the other hand is suffering badly from the pigeon pecking. No wonder the birds are so fat! There is not a single seedling leaf which has not been thoroughly pecked. I will leave them in and see if they can survived the onslaught. I have another row in another part of the garden that has been left untouched.
I have been following the Matt Hancock scandal today which seems to combine both sex and sleaze. I wonder if there is anything these days that a government minister could do that would make them sackable.
