Porty pushes the boat out

The tropical rain power-hosed Porty at lunchtime. While there is no doubt that rain is desperately needed the flash flood that turned our road into a river, washed a lot of grit ,tyre rubber and city detritus onto the promenade. Here it pooled, puddled and laked until it found its way slowly to the sand and finally the sea. It was not a good day for swimming  Many sea swimmers are clearly not put off by this sudden additional deterioration in the water quality.

Where Sprite is moored today, by 2050, this will be transport of choice as rising sea levels threaten to turn Portobello into a sub sea suburb  of Edinburgh  - “The Venice of the North” unless we ALL do something about this NOW.

In my extra there is an unusual garden shrub, on the same street, that looks like yellow buddleia but has a pineapple scent!  Any suggestions as to its name, please?
