Erraid
Morning sunshine replaced yesterday’s rain and we spent the morning in Tiroran with a picnic lunch. The trees here are unlike the rest of Mull, hanging on to the high cliff face, a mixture of conifers and deciduous trees, perhaps potential pine marten territory. I was so taken with them that I have included it as an extra. They are in Mull, small numbers, no idea where.
The afternoon was almost cloudless, although very breezy. The tide was just right for an exploration of Erraid and the shore beyond Knockvologan. The main blip is Erraid photographed from Tor Mor a’Chonairst. Just sublimely beautiful.
Erraid, or what I saw of it was more interesting for its buildings and people, the Findhorn Community leave a presence here. I was welcomed and then escorted on my short circuit of the island by half a dozen chickens who pecked my trousered legs delicately. I had no idea chickens could be so charming, and they are included in a second extra.
