Flying again!
The wind, while still fairly strong, had dropped, the visibility was wonderful, and I had an aircraft slot booked. So I managed a flight away from home base for the first time since early December.
The visibility was really good, with clear views down to the Solent and the Isle of Wight to the south and to Didcot Power Station in the other direction. A fairly brisk wind at 2000 feet meant we took a lot longer on the return flight than we did on the way down.
Today's picture is of a very sleek machine on the ground at Popham, where we landed, with our more sedate mount behind it. Who needs a fast machine anyway? Today was about enjoying the experience, and Bill & I certainly did that.
Sometimes life too is more about the journey than the destination; more about the experience than the speed. If we can look for the good things that come along and rejoice in them life will be more meaningful and fulfilling.
Back in the mid 1600s as a result of the Reformation, the Westminster Shorter Catechism was put together. One of the statements in this is that ... "Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever." Today I enjoyed the creation God has provided and his bountiful supply - I hope I can also Glorify him too.
