WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Tonight's Mooring

We're right next to the graveyard of St Andrew's Church in Kildwick which has quite a history.

When we lived in Scotland (for 37+ years!)
we heard a lot about battles and English raiders. Now we've lived in Yorkshire for nearly 3 years I've heard bits about Scottish raids - one of which was close to where we now live. Kildwick is another such battleground.
Thank heavens we don't have that silliness anymore! The folk down here love the Scottish.

This morning I popped out to get some Whimzee chews for Bella - she loves them. I also went to Tesco for a few things and then to B&M where I couldn't resist a big pot of pink and white petunias for the top of the boat - Frank just raised his eyeballs :-D))
I also found a recyled and recyclable box with a lid to keep on the back deck for our recycling and a small wooden tray with foldable legs for my morning coffee in bed!
Yay!

The journey from Skipton to Kildwick was lovely. The sun was shining, the wild flowers were in abundance along the canal sides and there are all manner of babies eveywhere - ducklings, cygnets, goslings as well as human babies in prams on the towpath. It is also doggie heaven and Bella May has been friendly with all of them up to now, she gets lots of praise for being friends ;-)

We moored up here at lunchtime and have been relaxing since then, reading the paper drinking coffee and tea and generally dossing about.

The extra shows the lovely Irises along the canal, a hillside meadow and the
petunias.
I hope you are all having a good day and the sun is shining wherever you are.
:-)X
