Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Chameleon?

I presume this is actually a chameleon rather than a shield bug! His camouflage is just perfect. He's on the Albertine climbing rose and had a narrow escape as I was squishing greenfly when I came across him. I did wonder if he was enjoying an aphid feast.

Friday again so the National Galleries art quiz link is at the foot of this entry. 8/10 for me today. The weeks are flying by

I went out first thing to pick up some odds and ends at the Chesser retail park. There is an Aldi, a Poundland, a Food Warehouse (Iceland), a Home Bargains and an M&S food there. It's never very busy so easy to visit and has a carpark too.

The girls came for the afternoon to let their dad have a sleep as he's on nights. We stayed outside for a good few hours enjoying the sunshine - they were well coated with factor 50! Isobel was playing at being a cat and purring and rubbing up against people. Eilidh drew the line though when she started to lick her. Fortunately I had ice lollies which were a much beget Orton for licking! !

Isobel wanted to know why I had so many different flowers in my garden, so I said that I liked them. She thought for a minute then said "Are flowers your favourite part of nature?" The philosophy of a four year old.

I had a Borders Cursillo meeting this evening, it's interesting to meet up with folks from around the country. I think we're all watching the numbers creeping up and praying hard!

Yodel were due to deliver a parcel between 12.30 and 3.20pm. At 8.07pm, I got a message to say it had been delivered, except it hadn't. It's always Yodel who have a problem. I've been round to all of their usual misdelivery addresses but no sign. I'm beginning to think he just took it home in his van and will bring it tomorrow. I get really fed up with them unfortunately a regular supplier uses them.

Weekend again tomorrow and the first week of June is over. The schools will be on holiday in just 3 weeks.

Keep safe and well everybody, selfishly I want to get away for my trip to Iona in July. Our local numbers are now half what they were a week ago and we are no longer the hot spot of Scotland.
