Relaxing in the shade

This is our sixth consecutive trip to Holly on the Hill. More families around - it’s bank holiday and school half term - but it’s still pretty quiet, and comfortable for us.

What we had not anticipated was heat. We are getting a lot of sun, so our basic equipment of two new camping chairs (which we took up this week) needs supplementing urgently with some form of shading device. Neither of us cope well in heat.

I sympathised with the highland bull and his two cows, currently occupying the adjacent field. I spotted them on my pre- breakfast perambulation. Sitting under the shade of a hawthorn tree is a sensible thing to do on a day which is going to be a hot one.
