Straw Hat
We’ve quite a lot of empty pots. So at the end of yesterday afternoon, when I thought it might be quiet, I visited Bents garden centre. My first visit since pre-pandemic times. I came back with a variety of plants.
This afternoon we began planting. Apart from one bag, the compost we have is all peat free - made in Cumbria, it’s a bracken and wool mix. Any further compost we get we’ll try and stick to peat free, we need to protect those fantastic peat bogs.
I took a few bee on or approaching flowers, at interludes in the planting process (extra). But for a change, and as she is comfortably hidden beneath a big straw brim, its J doing some planting.
More of all this tomorrow afternoon.
And - another gloriously sunny day. But as I write late evening, heavy rain. That will really help the plants.
