Avocets and redshanks
After a little work, I decided it was too nice a day to stay in so I went to the bird reserve on the Wash. By chance, I met a twitcher friend who was very useful in helping me to identify several birds including, turnstones, knots, ringed plovers, lapwings and dunlin. There were all the usual ducks, geese and swans too. He had a list of twenty or so different birds he had seen. The best shots I got were of avocets and redshanks, many of which were nesting. There were also hatchlings tweeting away to keep in touch with their mothers.
