Carol and Nigella’s pudding

I spent a while cooking for tonight so was disappointed when Katy texted to say she was feeling a bleh after her second jab yesterday. She was calling off coming tonight as they are off on holiday on Saturday so she wants to rest up for that.

My disappointment was soon put in perspective when I spoke to Chloe on WhatsApp and she told me that Anna was in hospital and has been told she has 6-12 months to live. It wasn’t all that long ago when she got all clear from the stomach cancer for which she was operated 3 years ago on her return from our Kyrgyzstan trip when I first met them both. She kept going back saying she was sure there was something wrong but maybe because of the Covid effect she didn’t get seen till recently. Anna and Chloe have been close friends for 40 years. We had a cry together.
