Bluebells at Bayfield

G and I walked the Bayfield Bird walk this morning, with a stop at the cafe at Natural Surroundings. It was lovely to see a few bluebells still hanging on in the woods. It was still quite cold out, but we missed the rain. It's nice to be able to use my laptop again after it had a new fan fitted, and good on the repair company for sourcing a new fan from China as not available in the UK and fitting it, all for £65.

Day 433 / Day 7 of Step 3 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
Germany has declared the UK to be a 'virus variant region', meaning we have to quarantine for 14 days on arrival (not that we should be travelling there except for exceptional reasons). The same is also likely to happen in France. A PHE study shows that 2 weeks after the 2nd jab it's 88% effective against symptomatic disease from the Indian variant, but only 33% effective after the 1st dose. AZ is 60% effective and 33% effective respectively. Dr Jenny Harries says that the Indian variant is starting to become the dominant strain in areas such as Bolton and Bedford and the NW in particular.
