Windy!

Another very windy day today for May, the weather station a couple of miles away reported gusts up to 45 mph, slightly less than the 47 mph reported yesterday. BBC weather was only reporting strong winds today, I believe they're not as accurate since they stopped getting their info from the Met Office. Leaves are definitely attracted to my front porch! We finally got heavy rain today.......for a whole 2 mins! A tv day today, I watched The Aeronauts this afternoon and Finding Dory this evening.

UK deaths up 282 to 36,675. The briefing today was around transport, announcing the intention to permanently use the way we use transport and that clean air for us will be as key as clean water was for the Victorians. The briefing was hijacked by journalists with all but one of the questions being about Dominic Cummings and whether he broke lockdown rules by travelling to his wider family in Durham. He says it was so that his sister and niece could shop for him and his wife whilst they had virus symptoms and look after their young son if needed, which is allowed under a 'safeguarding' override.. I don't like Cummings, but I have some sympathy having seen the dilemmas one family member had with childcare with two ill parents, one with CV symptoms.
