Sally Mair - Loving life

Holly

I don't think I've ever noticed holly flowers before! I saw these when I was out on the cycle path this morning.
I also commented to Feorlean the other day, when he said his rowan flowers were almost out, that I hadn't seen any. I see that I must have been walking around with downcast eyes, see extra.
Did a quick whizz around the shops once I got back, returning things to Sainsburys then wandering in Stockbridge. I'm very sad to see the Stockbridge St Columba's Hospice shop is closing. I noticed the one on Dalry Road wasn't there earlier today and there was one in Ocean Terminal for a while. I don't know if the Leith Walk one is still there or not, hopefully it is as I think they renovated it just before lockdown. I do hope they haven't closed all of their shops, they must have raised a lot of money over the years and it's nice to support a local cause.
Soderberg was very busy so I went in next door to the tea shop called Howdah, which only opened late last year. Very nice friendly atmosphere good coffee with a slice of coffee and walnut cake to keep it company.
I put a second coat of varnish onto the garden bench and table I started on yesterday. They look much better. I'll need to do the other bench next, but that needs a cleaner and restorer. I actually find that more difficult to do and to get a good look at the end of it.
Two Zoom meetings to finish off the day today, and I didn't get my hug... Tomorrow!
