Singin' in the Rain Live

Had an amazing evening at The Royal Albert Hall, watching Singin' in the Rain, with all the music being performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

The film is a huge family favourite, and the music sounded just amazing. It was fabulous to see the film with a big audience too; wonderful to be part of spontaneous rounds of applause for the fantastic singing, dancing and music. The whole thing gave me goosebumps. The children loved it! Betsy went to a concert at the Barbican once, but Al has never seen a proper or orchestra and was really mesmerised by it! He was impressed with the kettle drums in particular, and told me an improbable story - that his school has bought a teacher some kettle drums to celebrate the fact that she was recently awarded an MBE. Though she conducts the school orchestra, she is semi-retired, walks with crutches and is well into her seventies, so I can't help thinking Al might have not listened to the story properly. Either that or she is the most unlikely kettle-drum enthusiast I can think of.

Anyway, amazing night full of wonderful music and film!
