ANZAC...
……………………….Day, NZ
ANZAC stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corps.
Anzac Day is observed on 25 April. It commemorates New Zealanders killed in war and honours returned and serving servicemen and women.
These white crosses represent the “…Valiant Sons who fell in the Great War 1914-18….” from Motueka, NZ.
Private William Ham was the first Kiwi (New Zealander) to die in combat in World War One. The 22-year-old soldier from Ngatimoti, near Motueka, died in Egypt in 1915 during the Ottoman raid on the Suez Canal.
