Fallen…
………………...…Leaves
These autumn leaves lay in the quiet stillness of the pre dawn light.
ANZAC Day
Today we commemorate the first Anzac Day of a new decade. This year, it is our first Anzac Day in history where services have been cancelled - due to Covid-19.
Instead, Kiwis were asked to stand in solidarity outside their homes, in their doorways or driveways for a minutes silence at 6am
We joined neighbours in our street, each standing at the end of our driveways in remembrance of those who fought and gave their lives. The silence was broken with the sound of a lone piper in the morning darkness.
Thank you for your response to yesterday’s collage. I will catch up with your journals later this evening.
