Watching the Kids

I spent a pleasant hour sitting in the sunshine watching the activity in the pond. The frogspawn which arrived before the cold snap seems to have survived, and mum (?) popped out from under a rock to check on them. As well as a good many water snails and some diving beetles, there is at least one newt already active in the ponds I'm not sure if any of the snack-sized tadpoles will survive to maturity.
