Catkins

Another windy day, and a fair bit of cloud this morning.  It soon cleared, and a sunny afternoon.  A bit more cloud this evening.

Up early, and a disaster with the washing machine!  A cloth covered in white spirits got mixed in with the towels, and now everything stinks!  I've got detergent to try later.  Popped down to mam's after lunch, and also met Julie for a walk.  Had tea early, and then an early shift in the shop.  More walkies with Sammy later.

While I was down at mam's, I checked up on my cuttings I planted last year.  Most seem to have gripped, and showing signs of life, and some have lovely big catkins growing now.  These catkins will be a great hit for any early bees passing by.  I'll keep my eye on them over the summer, and hope to see some good growth.  This willow is locally known as Alaskan Willow, if that's correct, I'm not sure.  Taken in mam's meadow, Aith, Cunningsburgh.
