Larking About
Walking across Cleeve Cloud, the highest point in the Cotswolds at 330m in glorious sunshine, with clear blue skies and not a breath of wind was just stunning late this afternoon. The peace and tranquility, being able to see for hundreds of miles over such a fabulous view with so few people in evidence, was joyous. Poppy gambolling along at my feet had a wonderful time. Skylarks singing overhead just added to the atmosphere but not all was sweetness light by the look of this. Maybe it was a bit of skylark rivalry in the mating season but the two birds had a huge stand off.
We've spent the afternoon at an internment of a friend's father's ashes in Bredon. Covid has made it pretty difficult for people who have lost loved ones over the last year and this was much needed closure. It was lovely to see people we haven't seen for a few years and so nice to have the opportunity to catch up.
We watched the rerun this evening of the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh which I thought was beautifully done.
