Startled

Startled - well...I should say so! He had been eavesdropping on the conversation where we had allegedly said that we'd been running out of bird food. 

Hmm ...Was this purchase a necessity?

Absolutely! No chickens = no eggs and as we seem to be eating and supplying many of our friends with a vital food source it was a no brainer! 

Not much protein in a Goldfinch egg tho'!  An even more startled look ;)
