Another viaduct
It was lovely weather this morning, so nice in fact that when Dan decided to go to Ingleton for a walk with his friends I didn't even query the fact he was only dressed in shorts and a t-shirt.
Later on, when the Minx left to go back down to Salford, she dropped me off in Clawthorpe so that I could run home. Even as I set off, I wondered whether I had been a bit optimistic only wearing one layer; it was chillier than I thought. Still, I knew I'd soon warm up.
I was over the top of the ridge and running down towards Hutton Roof when something light and white fell down in front of my. Kind of like snow but not. Maybe some little blossom? A minute or so later there was another and then another. (A friend of mine who was out cycling around the same time described them as being like "little polystyrene balls" and that's a perfect description.)
Well, by the time I got down through Hutton Roof this odd snow was falling more steadily but looking east I could see that Ingleton was still sunny, so I thought Dan would be fine. By the time I was down at Biggins, though, it was like running in a blizzard and I could no longer see any distance at all.
Later on, Abi and I drove over to pick Dan up and he too had been caught in the snow storm although he said he'd enjoyed his walk regardless. My photo is from where we stopped to pick him up, a shot of Ingleton Viaduct from below. I've written about this magnificent structure on here before; a most impressive folly!
