Ingleborough

This is a hill in Yorkshire blipped from
our campsite in Lancashire - we are on the border.

Years ago we walked the 3 Peaks - a long but wonderful day out. When #2 daughter did them with a work ‘away day’ she saw nothing as it was wet and in cloud. (Only she and one chap completed).

We had a good drive over the Roman Road and round Carlisle to Cockermouth to sit in her courtyard with Joan. It is over a year since I saw her - I went with her every March to the Words by the Water book festival - just before the first lockdown. She has had to shield because of the complicated medication she needs for rheumatoid arthritis but is a great talker so being isolated had been very hard for her. We managed to get our usual political discussion done but when then sun went we agreed to call it a day.

Then it was a lovely drive by Bass Lake and onto the M6 before turning onto the Skipton road. Our site for 5 camper vans is about 1/2 mile from Ingleton. The lambs are playing, birds are singing, the sun is shining. We love van life. Except now I have to cook. Oh well it’s ALMOST perfect.
