Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Lord of all he surveys!

I slept well last night thanks to a nytol, I'm going to have another tonight to try and catch up a bit.
What a beautiful day today, so much warmer. I've had a look at the weather forecast and the weather looks like getting progressively warmer over the next weeks.
I took advantage of the weather and made a start in the garden, it's all rather a time of waiting for things to get going just now. A little early for seedlings to go outside but they are starting off indoors. The broad beans should be able to go in the cold frame next week I think. I did a lot of pottering and preparing. I set up the growhouse plastic greenhouse, it had suffered in the wind at the end of last year so I spent ages duct taping all the joints and corners and resewing one of the hooks.
I've decided the old sweet pea seeds I planted a couple of weeks ago have had it, only two appear to have taken so I've put some more to germinate. I've put some shallots and garlic into a propagator to get their roots started. The kitchen window sill is rapidly running out of space already.
I've set up the cold frame and planted up my tattie sacks. They're only just empty from last season! I then spent a while clearing up some of the leaves and much which had gathered and everything is looking fresh and ready to go.
I even decided to give everything a good watering too.
We had bridge this evening, as usual I played the first half then handed over to Colin. Happy to say my partner and I were well up at that point, I do like to leave things in a positive state if I can.

My blip is of a great tit in the garden, there was a flurry of assorted tits at one point,(my childish sense of humour makes me think that everybody smiled when they read that but I can't think of how else to put it!) as ever though they refused to smile for the camera, so this chap sitting at the top of the apple tree is as good as it gets!
Keep safe everybody, things are starting to move I'm beginning to almost begin to allow myself to believe that I might make it to Iona in July.
