MOSQUE, THOMAS STREET , SIMON'S TOWN

A grey day, hinting that Autumn is around the corner. No inclination to swim today, but hopeful that we will have a few more swims before we return to the Karoo in the middle of the month.
The Mosque was the heart of the Malay community pre- apartheid days. Most of the congregation now live in Ocean View many miles away. The Imam's family still live in the quaint Victorian cottage next to the Mosque where it is claimed the Koran was translated into Afrikaans in the 1800's
