Steep, steep , steep

We have officially exhausted ourselves! After breakfast, we walked up a steep hill to the Heritage Park at the top of Woodills Road. Our steep climb was rewarded with stunning views of both Akaroa, and a more general view of Banks Peninsula. It is so beautiful, but really brown from the draught.. The area desperately needs rain.
After lunch, we went to Duvauchelle where the Akaroa Golf Course is located. We played 9 holes and some of them were so steep- it was hilarious watching the ball roll down the hill onto another fairway!!  The extra photo shows Jill walking down a steep hill between 2 holes. 
When we checked our course maps at the end of the game, the 9 hole course excluded all the steep holes we had played- oh well, put it down to a learning experience!
