At Home

What a cold, miserable, overcast day. After yesterday's promise of better things to come, today was a real let-down and a sign of how things really are.

Still I had lunch to prepare as Maureen and Ian were coming over. I made a huge stock pot of mixed vegetable curry spiced up with, amongst other things, most of a jar of Patak's Balti Paste. We had a selection of pakoras and bhajis for starters and the curry was served with chapatis and plain yogurt. That was warm enough to chase the weather blues away.

This was washed down with a very nice bottle of red, we then retired to the lounge where Ann had lit the fire and we sunk into the sofas to while away the next hour or so.

Later, after our guests had left, we took Dylan for a walk around the block. I saw a flock of birds fly over and land on the top of a high Poplar tree. This is today's picture.
