6 Months Check-up!

N14 Highway: Krugersdorp to Centurion.

Charmaine and I travelled to Centurion for my 6 month post-op consultation with dr Jekel, my surgeon who did my operation on 5 September. This is what the traffic, travelling west, looked like!! Thank goodness we were travelling in the opposite direction!! Surely a bit better in BIG!

Dr Jekel is satisfied with the progress of the wounds, it really mended beautifully in this short period of 6 months! He gave a script for some anti-inflammatories for a few months to ease the discomfort and sooth the joint pain which bugs me, particularly at night. Whoohoo, looking forward to, hopefully, better night rest a few days from now! He advised lots more rest, since the damage to the heart muscle still needs lots of healing before I will have 'normal' energy levels again! He explained the reasons for a few of the unpleasant side-effects of my treatment as well, eisch, it is quite tough, but hey, I WILL NOT ALLOW IT TO BREAK MY SPIRIT!! ;-)
