Back to School

What a delight today to get up, get dressed and get out of the house! I drove past the local primary school on my drive to work today and the parents post-drop-off looked giddy with joy! I'm sure they will have gone crazy with the celebrations and maybe had a coffee on a bench with a friend. Wild!

We were in a local secondary school today, helping with the covid testing. It was a slick operation and nice for us to be involved and begin to be able to catch up with some of the young people. Their overriding response to being back in school was the struggle with getting out of bed and out of the house, rather than joining the school zoom at 9am still in PJs, only to nap again straight afterwards. The negative tests, I'm sure, will go some way to reassuring teachers about being back in school. All slightly surreal though.

A catch up with Lucy afterwards, which obviously had to be done whilst walking which obviously meant absolutely freezing ourselves to the core. I don't think I'll ever take a warm coffee shop for granted again.
