Out and about - round Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh

No. 1 Son felt well enough to go out for a while today, so we headed off for a little light shopping and some visiting.

We have a world-renowned opera singer staying at our little cottage in Edinburgh, so we popped in to visit him for a little while and he made us a cup of tea. He is heading back to the USA from his stint with Scottish Opera in Edinburgh and Glasgow. He goes straight to Denver, Colorado, for a month there, then on to Austin, Texas for another month. He was studying for his roles when we interrupted (by his invitation). He's staying with us as it is an easy walk from the cottage to the Festival Theatre.

It is great when we have such lovely guests to stay. It seems a very hectic life being an opera singer - he has dates in his diary right through 2015!

After our visit, I took the road round through Holyrood Park to check that all was well with the world. The sky was blue and it felt like spring might be about to burst forth. A different picture from this one, taken near the same spot in summer!
