The Kiltwalk Glamour Girls
It's a well established fact that Kiltwalkers like to socialise or "party" might be another way of looking at it.
However those that "Kiltwalk hard" deserve to "party hard" and there are no bigger party animals than Fiona (right) and Gillian who, along with 38 others, are taking part in this years Kiltwalk expedition to Kilimanjaro.
The event proved to be a huge success, which i'm sure was down to popularity of these two ladies, but its clearly a great way to fundraise for The Kiltwalk, at any time!!
By the time they had finished counting the nights fund raising, they had amassed a fabulous £1800 which is going to be supported with an extra £750 from Barclays bank so a final total on the night of £2550 which is dimply fantastic.
The girls, who are fundraising jointly, need to reach £6,000 so that's a great start.
Family and friends packed the hall where the 130 guests were treated to a fun filled night of entertainment as they had hired a DJ and provided an enormous buffet, which meant everyone was happy to dig deep for the raffle, tombola, Irish bingo and closest to the bottle (or chipsy as most were calling it).
The generosity and support from their families and local businesses was beyond the pale with prize donations that included Rangers and Celtic tours, a signed Celtic top, a four ball at Carrick, Loch Lomond, meal vouchers, beauty vouchers, food hamper and lots of alcohol!!! Well it was a Kiltwalk bash after all :-)
It sounds like a top night where my invitation must have got lost in the post and seems to be the first of many that we're aware of. It's an outstanding effort from everyone as this year there is a huge awareness going on and people are fund raising for The Kiltwalk and Scotland's Kids the length and breadth of the country and we thank every single one of you.
If you're planning a night then get in touch and we'll support your event as much as we can and don't worry you don't actually need to invite us :-)
