Life, not as we see it.

Fieldfare departs.

Unusual visitor this.  They normally appear in November together with redwings, and strip the berries from our cotoneaster.  This one arrived yesterday and seems to be alone.
It frequents the water feature on the decking, currently under snow, and returns every 1/2 hour or so.   The woodie thinks this is it's private domain and chases the Fieldfare but is in turn chased by either the blackie or a robin.
Strangely we have a pair of male robins, and a pair of male blackies who all take turns of chasing each other off of the water feature.  As it has a pump it is not freezing over and is providing one of the few accessible drinking points for the local wildlife.
