Still frozen
A naturally early start to the day after a decent night’s sleep. The combination of the new blind and having to lie completely still to read so my one-legged glasses didn’t slip off were I think contributory factors. Two breakfasts (toast, then porridge) with Yoga Challenge day 23 in the middle – a longish session and a great one for the hip joints. I set off of on my morning walk with the intention to going to Bellahouston Park to watch the snow sports but Pollok Park was so quiet and lovely that I stayed there, did the longer circuit and returned home via the Bowling Club entrance which is nearly always muddy and rather narrow – neither of these things were a problem today. A swing has appeared along the rhododendron walk which a small boy was putting to good use. His mother said she thought the Queens Park allotmenteers were responsible – one has appeared in Queens Park too. It was a fine specimen with a large wooden seat and hefty rope attached to a sturdy tree. I plan to return a bit earlier in the morning and try it out.
The blip is the pond in the Pollok Park completely frozen over, I think the ducks have all decamped to the river – I have never seen quite so many huddled together on the bank opposite Pollok House.
Various phone calls including one from the opticians- my glasses are ready after just three days, although I will have to wait until Tuesday before they can hand them over. Very impressed with Specsavers. Son #2 sounded cheerful enough and they seem to have found an alternative venue for the wedding now remitted to 2023.
