A little tease...

Cold though it might be, we ventured out for a morning walk before it warmed up and everyone else got the same idea. The more folk who get the vaccine, it seems, the less care there is passing each other in the lanes... ah well.

This group of tease is very nice, and makes a nice shot. But I really wanted the woodpecker... we heard him across the field and finally got close enough to see him drilling into an oak tree. But he never presented well and we couldn't get a better angle before he flew off. I've put him into extras because I liked his closed eye look as he smashes into the bark, bits flying everywhere.

I added the robin too. Although they're pretty photogenic and ever willing to pose for a shot, this one was flying all over the ivy in this tree, taking the flowers off the ivy on the wing. Again, I couldn't get a shot of that (I've pushed this exposure quite a bit as it is), but he looks very happy.
