Labor of Love - in Mono
My hubby knows I love birds and gardening. And since he loves me, he built 19 geometric shaped raised beds, 2 brick patios, a few bird houses, and stepping stone walkways, enclosed them in fencing and helped me plant my dream garden. You can see more detail if you enlarge the picture. It was going to be our go to spot for romantic evenings. We have a cozy swing where we’d enjoy a nice glass of wine and snacks. And it is such a tranquil spot for prayer. We originally used several beds for vegetables and berries but deer, squirrels and bunnies beat us to the harvest. Now we have various shrubs, many perennials and blueberry bushes planted throughout. The deer still eat every tender lily before it blooms. The grands loved visiting the garden and we used it for our Easter egg hunts. Now something else loves our garden more and there is no romance between us and the new occupants. Over the last few years, we have found several poisonous copperhead snakes sunning themselves in our garden. We still maintain each bed and keep the grass trimmed but we hang out closer to our home using the fire pit ambiance for romantic evenings. In another blip, I will show you the new labor of love he built to satisfy my love of gardening.
Otherwise, today we both had our semi annual dental check ups and I had a physical therapy re-eval. Will be cutting the weekly therapy sessions in half. Looking forward to a quiet evening since dinner is cooked and all necessary tasks are finished. Thanks for the visits and comments.
