EMD SD 70 Locomotive At Night

Driving home quite late from racing slot cars in Albany.

Route 99 parallels the Union Pacific Railroad tracks most of the way.

A pair of locomotives were looming out of the night as I rolled south on 99.

When I realized the train was stopped on a siding waiting for the right of way I decided I'd pull over for a photo.

It was certainly a bit surreal to be parked next to this huge beast rumbling and making random chuffing noises in the otherwise still night air.

Quite nice actually, until a huge tractor-trailer truck roared by spraying me through my open car window.

Yikes, time to get moving; miles to go before I get to post my blip and go to sleep!
