Merganser Drake and Hen

The weather cleared this afternoon with the bright sun warming everything to perfection.

I rode my old Nishiki bike out to the Fern Ridge Wetlands to soak up the sun’s rays.

A pair of Merganser ducks were courting as I rode along Amazon Creek on the bike path.

My usual less than effectively surreptitious approach provided a several shots of them hastily getting airborne.

These ducks are really quite beautiful and exotic.

It is certainly a privilege to see them up close and personal.
