Gulls away ...
This flock of common gulls took off from their flightdeck in the Figgate Park. Their aerial disappointment was that we had no food for them! Many who use this walkway along the side of the former clay pit do bring copious quantities of white sliced bread for the birds. Such food is not good for them.
Our walk took us five miles around Portobello today and we came across an apple tree with most of its autumn crop still on its branches. It was proving to be a healthy food source to a wide range of birds including a relatively rare tree creeper in an urban setting adjacent to the east coast mainline.
The day began with our twice weekly home school support of our Gloucestershire grandchildren. We really value this precious 2D contact and are pleased to play a small part. We have enormous respect for all teachers doing their best throughout this Covid induced lockdown.
