Newhailes

The forecast snow, arrived on the coast, as very cold rain. It remained cold all day with a persistent east wind.

After a morning of screen meetings it was good to go for a five mile walk. This time we discovered a community garden very near us that we did not know existed. Sadly it is closed at the moment. T is keen to volunteer there if it ever reopens. One unexpected side effect of the current confinement is finding out what’s at the end of lanes and alleys we have never previously had the time to explore.

Our walk took us round the front of the NTS Newhailes House. The lack of winter foliage affords a good view of the house’s western facade.
