New Chinese Lunar Year

When I was a wee bairn China meant paper lanterns and dragons.
When I was at secondary school I had a copy of Chairman Mao’s little red book.
In the second decade of this century I finally worked with Chinese colleagues and visited China five times. (My attempts to master Mandarin, however, failed miserably.)

I learnt a great deal about China and especially about how important are the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Today marks the beginning of the Chinese lunar year of the Tiger. My blip was the nearest I came to a tiger on a visit to town, by bus, this afternoon!

This morning our new greenhouse was skilfully assembled. We are very pleased that we have been able to get this task completed as there is such demand on garden improvements post pandemic.

Our greenhouse was built in Gloucestershire. We chose it because of its very local pedigree. We could have bought a less expensive one but that would be coming from China and deliveries were not guaranteed due to Covid, Brexit, and shipping container shortages.
