Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Another dreich day. Actually, much dreicher than yesterday with occasional sleet showers, one when we went out for a walk. We were taking Archie to the vet - nothing serious - just a wee treatment that takes about two minutes (£20 please). He doesn’t want me to talk about it, but he hasn’t needed it for a very long time.

We had the good idea of walking to the vet and back, or bussing one way and walking back, but the sleet showers put an end to that, and we went both ways by car. Here we’re in the car park, waiting for the vet to come and get Archie, and he is beginning to realise where we were...

Apart from that, we haven’t done much. Actually, JR has - a fitness session this morning, and one called ‘Body Attack’ this afternoon. She has just come back from this ‘Body Attack’ session, and she was rather stressed. The instructor was yelling and shouting constant instructions, with loud screechy ‘music’. She lasted about ten minutes, but couldn’t turn off the cacophony for some reason, so wandered off leaving the iPad shut in the kitchen covered in towels and cushions but still audible. I forced it quit to shut her (the instructor, not JR) up.

What a joy to see footage of a huge outdoor concert in New Zealand, with CROWDS. And the tennis in Australia is starting soon, with spectators. Although we’re still in the grip of the virus, it’s comforting to see some parts of the world (because of how they handled it) almost back to normal.

Thank goodness for Netflix - ‘White Tiger’ last night and ‘The Dig’ tonight.
